SPARK: ACTIVATE FAITH
for children Age – Grade 1!
• SPARK Sunday School will help your child
know God’s Word as they walk through key Old Testament and New Testament
Bible stories each year, in a two-year cycle, with the Old Testament stories
in the fall quarter and the New Testament stories in the winter and spring
quarters. The key events in Jesus’ life and ministry will be studied
in the Christmas, Easter, and Pentecost stories included each year.
SPARK Bibles are available for purchase from the church to reinforce each
Sunday’s lesson at home.
Tennessee Conference Event "NRG 2014
St. Mark's Children's Ministry Team is excited to invite your Grade 3 -
Grade 6 pre-teen to plug in to the Tennessee Conference Event "NRG 2014,"
an action-packed lock-in at the Adventure Science Center Friday/Saturday,
November 14/15. Transportation will be provided to/from St. Mark's UMC.
More information and registration is available below. Two female
and one male adult are already planning to attend; we need one additional
male chaperone. Adult registrations will be reimbursed by the church. This
event sold out last year, so be sure to register as soon as possible, and
let Rev. Touchton know so you have a seat reserved on the van! Questions?

• COLOR ME CHRISTIAN WORKSHOP ROTATION
for children Grade 2 - 5. Workshop Rotation offers a unique Sunday
school experience that takes seriously the spiritual development of elementary
children while providing creative, hands-on activities that engage them
in a deeper level of learning and retention. Children work on one
biblical story or concept for several weeks, using different learning approaches
in each workshop, including computers, drama, music, science, movies, art,
games, cooking, and more! To learn about what is currently
being studied in our workshops, visit the Children’s Ministry Kiosk in
the Narthex.

"GLEE CLUB" (God Loves Everyone Equally)
The "Glee Club" is St. Mark's Special Needs Ministry,
welcoming children with special needs ages 3 through 6th grade into our
Sensory Room. If you are in need of services from our Special Needs
Ministry, we ask that you first contact our Sensory Room coordinator, Mary
Dunkin, by phone at (615) 692-9347. In order to meet the needs of
each child we ask that there are no drop-ins; we want to understand the
needs of each participating the child so our caring volunteers will be
trained and available to minister to your child. The Glee Club is open
Sunday mornings, 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. and Wednesday evenings, 6:15 – 7:15
p.m.
NURSERY
During your child's first years, they will experience
the love of Christ through the outstanding care of our nursery staff.
Childcare is provided for children from 6 weeks to 4 years of age during
all worship services, classes, and other gatherings
ST. MARK’S PRESCHOOL
Operates five days per week September through
May with varied programs for children 18 months - 4 years of age. Sherrie

WEDNESDAY CHOIRS AND BIBLE ZONE
Handbell and Choirs for Preschool through 6th grade are part of our
September - May "Wednesday Night Together” Ministry.
J.A.M. SESSION (Jesus and Me)
5th and 6th graders meet monthly for fun, fellowship, service and spiritual
challenge, including Nashville Shores, "Created by God" seminar, Mission
Mania, and Confirmation. Permission Forms for JAM events can be downloaded

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Worship, singing, arts and crafts, hands-on learning, recreation and
mission. Bring a friend! We will be using the WOW: Workshop

CHILDREN’S CHURCH
After the Children's Sermon, children ages 4 - 7 are invited to reflect
upon the morning Bible story with music and movement, stories, prayer and
other related activities. Children return to the sanctuary for the closing
of worship, including communion on first Sundays. Children’s Church is
offered during the school year, September – May in Room 1117.
SEASONAL EVENTS
Advent and Lenten activities, Christmas Eve worship for families with
children, an Easter Egg Hunt and special mission events.
CAMP CEDAR CREST
Camp Cedar Crest offers an outdoor experience of Christian community
for rising 2nd to 6th graders. Registration in March.
CHOIR, ACOLYTING, AND USHERING
Children are invited to lead in worship through service in age-level
Children's Choir, as an Acolyte, and as a monthly Coin Offering Usher.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
Should a severe weather event occur that inhibits the ministry of the
church throughout the week, the standard policy for cancellation rests
upon the decision made by the Murfreesboro City Schools. Should this
school system choose to cancel school activities, ministries at St. Mark's
will also be cancelled on that day. Members are encouraged to check
